About John E.
Groberg
My name is John E.
Groberg. I am married to a wonderful wife since 1991 and
am a father of six children. We live in Mesa,
AZ. I grew
up (physically) in Idaho, Hawaii, and Utah, but have
lived my adult life so far in California and Arizona.
I'm still growing up spiritually. I come from a
large family of 11 children. I am #6 in that
lineup.
For the last 25 plus years, I’ve been an avid researcher and
experimenter with all sorts of books, products and services in
the personal/spiritual growth and wellness
fields.
I love to learn how life works-
not just through reading books- but through experimenting with
the principles and practices taught by some of the world’s most
enlightened teachers and writers- both ancient and modern, both
eastern and western. I’ve
studied many of the ancient religious texts from many different
religions that have stood the test of time. I’ve taken up the
practice of yoga and formal meditation. I’ve benefited
tremendously from many of the teachers I’ve found in this
process and have assimilated it all into my own unique
understanding of life that I attempt to share with you on this
site. And as my understanding continues to develop and grow, I
will share that with you too.
I created this site as a creative outlet where I can produce
something useful instead of just consuming what others have
produced. I hope this effort will somehow benefit you in your
journey.
The fact that I've created this site and write about what I do
might well surprise many who know me- because this is not what
I do for a living. And while understanding life and
spiritual growth is a passion of mine, it's not one I wear
on my sleeve. I don't go around telling people around me
how they can grow spiritually- that kind of advise is not
usually received well when
unsolicited. The beauty of this medium is
that by the act of you searching and finding this
site and clicking and reading what I'm writing- you are in
effect soliciting the advise I'm offering. And if you
ever want me to shut up, all you have to do is click your
mouse off my site and I'm gone. But hopefully you'll
find this site useful in some way in your own Life
journey.
“Serve
humanity, learning and teaching… Learning and teaching
are necessary for spiritual
progress.”
- The Taittiriya
Upanishad
As this great quote teaches, I learned that my own spiritual
progress required more than just continuing to learn from
others- it now requires teaching others as I continue to
learn. So I have made
a choice to create this
site. Whether
anyone else benefits from it or not is unimportant to
me.
I dedicate it to God and to my own spiritual
growth. I will put
all I can into creating quality and useful content designed to
help others, and I will do what I can to deliver that content
to as many people as I can- but from there it is out of my
control and it will do what it will
do.
That is one of the great truths I learned from the Bhagavad
Gita. One of its
central teachings is of selfless action detached from
expectation of the fruits of that
action.
In other words, doing good
with no expectation of reward.
Jesus taught the same thing when he taught “let not thy left
hand know what thy right hand doeth.”
So with that intention, I offer this site as part of my
contribution to the world.
Here’s to growing, by choice.

A
few key points about what I
write: - I write what is
real and true for me regardless of whether it is popular or
whether I hurt some feelings. While my intention is to
uplift and not offend, I consider hurt feelings a step
towards waking up and facing truths our ego may
be resisting having to deal with. If something I
say offends you or strikes you as naive, I invite you to
just take in what works for you now and discard the rest-
rather than throwing out the baby with the bath
water.
- I write only what is timeless-
what is as meaningful and relevant today as it was a thousand
years ago as it will be a thousand years from
now.
- I write
what is applicable to all- not just a few. When I choose a
topic, I imagine myself speaking to millions- it must be
relevant to all that are open to it. But when I write, I
imagine myself having a private conversation with a close
friend. Time, space, culture, race, religion, language, all
disappear at the level of Spirit which connects us
all.
- I write as a friend, a peer, a
fellow Human Being in training- like you- not as an expert, a
guru, a master or any other such title.
In fact, this is not a full
time thing for me- it is a passion I have and a
commitment I’ve made to contribute what I can to the
world, but I run other
businesses besides this site that take up most of my
time.
"The greatest good you can do for
another is not just share your riches, but reveal to them their
own."-- Benjamin Disraeli
